Thanks Vossy1

Finished with 19.5lts @ 1046 after starter pitched which smelled fine before I poured it in..phew!

I didn't quite hit the 1048 as expected, the recipe was for a 2 hour boil which may be worth considering if I brew it again.

I seem to get down to 1008 on past brews so I'm hoping if I get down to 1010 then I will still come in with 4.8%ABV as per the recipe but I am a little over the 40 IBU at 43 IBU.

Should still be a good 'un though

So that was my 10th all grain since march.

That works out at 1.666666 reoccurring every month.

I don't watch telly any more.........never watched that much anyway

I might brew another one tomorrow, found out earlier that I have an unexpected day off tomorrow! :D

Yes, I will certainly be monitoring the PH and treating the water as necessary which is a new step for me.

With my last 3 brews I have been trying a different mash thickness combined with temperature in order to see what difference that makes. I've been reading up in its effect on sweetness, maltiness and dryness also mouthfeel etc.

Mash PH goes hand in hand with the above so it makes sense for me to treat the water.

Your kit is just the job!

Thanks Daab

Sevener told me that as well this afternoon :D

I went round to test my PH meter (and collect my vienna lager from his fridge)and the PH reading was right but the temp reading was out by quite a bit interestingly.
