American Stout-21/06/08

Post by kitoog » Sun Jun 22, 2008 11:52 am

I brewed this up yesterday which is based on Reprobate Stout from Brewing Classic Styles using closest hops I had.The original recipe calls for Horizon @60min (67.4 IBU) and 28g Centennial @5 min. I did not have a great boil as element was cutting out for a short while about every 10 min, so I added 6 min to the boil. I somehow ended up with 21 litres in the fermenter instead of 19L but OG was 1070 so should be fine. The mash smelt amazing and looked nice and dark.

Is that the new element you got in Milestone that's tripping? did you figure out why it's playing up?

Its the original electrim boiler element. I might just remove the cut off from the element. The element from milestone has round type pins and I did not get a lead yet.
