1st timer needs help

going to get first kit tomorrow dont know what yet like all types of beer so wil chat to owner shop been there alot of years so he will know what i need kit already got is fermentation bin 2 king kegs spoon floats inside king keg and a heater belt checked kegs and all ok no leaks got given them what sugar is best to use when my dad used to do it years ago he used normal granulated sugar from what i remember are king kegs designed for certain beers or are they suitable for all types just dont want to be sold lots of stuff i dont need

things on shopping list
a beer kit or 2
vmp told cleaning solution
hydrometer
some syphoning tubing

Sugar is fine but also look at dried malt extract; sugar can water down the taste of the beer, the right shade of DME will enhance it.

Ask for VMP but I think you'll get VWP - I use it every time with no problems so far.

Only things I'd add to your list is yeast vit (helps yeast do its stuff); dried beer enzyme (when your brew "sticks" this stuff is the last resort and it really is cheap enough just to throw at the back of your brewcupboard "just in case") and finally, a couple of packets of extra yeast (if the stuff packaged with your kit is old, you'll need a spare).

I would definitely get a bag of punctuation marks while you are out. :)

Other than that what ^^ said is good advise.

I tend to use demerara sugar but thats with all grain, kits might come out a bit thin so I would use the DME as suggested, good luck :D

I do know how to spell advice, I made a mistake. Thanks for pointing it out.
