Dry Or Liquid Extract

Post by JayBee » Sun Jun 29, 2008 7:47 pm

I`m quite keen to start my next kit, another IPA which may be the Coopers again. Just to be a little different this time I was wondering whether to use their liquid malt extract in place of the light spraymalt I used before, very successfully I may add.
I don`t want to use it for the sake of it though and still being pretty new to the brewing game wondered if it would make a significant difference to the taste/strength of the end product.
Thanks

I personally find that spraymalt keeps better than Liquid malt so given the length of time it stays in the shop the spray malt will make the better beer, unless you get a really fresh batch of Liquid malt ;)

Thanks Aleman. At least I know my spraymalt hasnt been on the shelf long as an obliging local chemist orders it for me as I need it.
