Beer Changed colour

Post by Oggy' Bar » Mon Jun 30, 2008 12:11 am

OK..I'm pretty sure I'm not that p155ed....A few weeks ago I brewed 20l of Fiddlers elbow. This turned out to be a flavoursome and pleasant ale of a golden/ruby colour...9.6SRM

I haven't had a glassful for a couple of weeks but poured myself a couple tonight and its dark ruby red. Nearer 12-15SRM..Is this possible?

Are you sure you haven't got a protein haze (or chill haze) forming giving a false impression of colour?

Should have said...It's crystal clear, hold it up to the light and you can see the head through the bottom of a pint glass quite clearly.
