Leaking King Keg

Has anyone had problems with leakage from the tap washer with a King Keg barrel? This is the 3rd brew I've attempted, the last two had exactly the same problem.I've replaced the washer and tap which had a non stop drip.on the last brew. Its a top tap system with float.
I am tightening as finger tight as possible. How tight should it be?
The flange and hole that the tap and washer fit into appear to be slightly out of true but the washer appears to be covering the anomoly.
Any help or advice appreciated,I do'nt want to lose another brew.

I've got 8 KK's all I've done in the past with all my taps. Be it on a barrel, fv, mash tun etc is to use PTFE tap and do the back nut up with your hand as tight as poss then give it a 1/4 turn with a socket or pair of adjustable's if you aint got a socket that big :)

I recently returned a float top KK with exactly the same problem. I was advised that they had had quite a few returned all with same leak problem. Apparently the whole in the barrel where the tap screws in is not smooth but quite jagged. Quite a few made with same fault apparently.

just a thought, you are putting the washer on the outside of the barrel so the turning nut doesnt distort the washer....

Cheers for the input, the washer is definately on the outside. The problem seems to be the unequal spacing that the tap and the washer have to butt up against.I'ts not until you have a very close look that you see the hole is not exactly central.I'm trying the pdfe tape on the outside around the washer and it seems to have stopped most of the leakage, but I do'nt know if the pressure is building up.How long do I have before its Goodnight Vienna and the brew is spoilt again.
