Kits and clones

Post by Aes9471 » Sat Jul 26, 2008 4:59 pm

For the first time for a while bought some Hobgoblin, have to allow the remaining bottle of my first brew another few days to mature properly you understand!!

Two things, firstly God it tasted good, so good in fact I began to wonder are there any kits with a reasonably similar taste? (Before any one says I'm in the wrong section - Extract brewing would be better) I am still very much learning the basics. Can anybody suggest kits that remind them of any other commercial beers.

Secondly, having worked half my way through the 'still conditioning' bottles had to laugh, when pouring the afforementioned Hobgoblin, stopped just short of pouring the last 1/2 inch into the glass, as I was being wary of the sediment!!

I guess that's when you know you are a homebrewer  !!

If anyone wants to add to that feel free to start a new thread entirely or add below, "You know you're a homebrewer when........"

Hobgoblin - always going to be right at the top of my list too!

Your first point - no idea but by posting on your thread, if someone helps you, they now help me...

Second point: Hahahahahaah - done exactly the same thing myself!

"You know you're a homebrewer when........"

You spend more time making, than drinking.
