First kit, changing taste?

Post by nil_fhios_agam » Mon Aug 04, 2008 11:03 am

I am into week two of a Woodforde Wheery Kit. That is, it has been in its bottles for 2 weeks. I have been sampling the brew one every 3-5 days (for carbonation purposes, don't you know  ) and it had been coming along fine, a little green tasting but fine. On Friday, I open a bottle and it was great, so great I opened another 4 and they were all great. However, last night, thinking they all must be ready, I opened a couple more but started to get a horrible after taste after each one. Is it possible that the glusose I used for primary couldn't be broken down and distorting the taste over time? The taste was HORRIBLE!

Tastes of really cheap beer. Its not "gone off" taste, more plastic, cheap taste.
Also, wouldn't you see and/or smell infection? It smells really nice.
