Hello all i have used the basic phil mill with a drill fitted for speed for the past 14 years.I get a good crush and great mash effciency. :D I probably crush around 300 kg of malt a year and there is still very little ware and tear. Just keep an eye out for small stones when filling. :x And if you can get your malt from a maltsters you will get good quality at less than half the price of any home-brew shop . Cheers Rabmaxwell(Brewing in Ayrshire)

Tuckers maltings - £28.50 for 25kg crushed marris otter delivered to your door looks good to me ( was going to use warminster but they are more expensive ). Anyone used either of these - if so any feedback on quality /service?

Cheers

Not cheap! I can get crushed grain cheaper than that in single brew quantities.

I bought a 25 kg sack from Farnborough last week and, two brews later, it's all gone! They we 10gallon stong brews, mind.

I am considering getting it delivered by Warminsters but I like to support my local shops. Maybe I'll get a couple of sacks from Farnborough befoer I decide.

/Phil.

Good stuff - think i will use these. Who delivered it , did they just leave it outside your door or did someone have to be at home for them to leave it?

Cheers
