Thanks very much for noticing the calves, pink shoes and pedal pushers. I was only asked to "hold this while I take a photo", I didn't realise you guys would be so observant on a Sunday.

Final Lot of pictures . . . . Managed to crop my frock out of this lot though :P

A good rolling boil
Image

and the same boil from a different angle ;)
Image

1.0475 Lucky that is the raw wort from the boiler and I have 'let it down' to my desired OG . . . especially as it was hopped for that gravity
Image
Nice wort colour though

After a few hours there was definite yeast activity . . . Hmmm
Image

The yeast decided to climb out of the fermenter this morning

Where did you get your hydrometer from? Looks way more accurate than mine

Its one of the three ranges that Chris at Hamstead Homebrew had made up
Mine is for beer up to 1.050 (But goes from 1.000 as no beer should finish that dry ;) ) and is marked in 0.5 Gravity Point increments.

They do two other ranges 0.950 - 1.000 (???? Even wines shouldn't finish that low) and I am sure they mentioned a 1.050 - 1.100 one

Its Finished!!!   Pitched yeast at 16:00 on 31st Aug its now what 13:00 2nd Sept . . . . . Blimey

Of course All I have to do now is to get it to clear . . . This yeast is notorious for being a poor flocculator . . . having said that its notorious for finishing early as well

Mind if I keep quiet about the yeast for a bit longer . . . Suffice it to say it is a very well known dry yeast . . . . And I pitched two 11g Sachets

Well the Hydrometer sample went into the fridge for a couple of days

Image

and this is the result. Its cleared but not totally. I am thinking of racking the main batch to another FV and adding Aux Finings, and then Isinglass a couple of days later. I wasn't going to bother racking it but as the yeast deposit is so clean, its worth using it again in a Barleywine or Imperial Stout
