No piccies im afraid, it was a spur of the moment brew, everything went smoothly and it was probably my quickest and easiest brewday yet. The only fly in the ointment was the damn hopstrainer blocking AGAIN!!
How to do my usual routine of constantly disturbing the hop bed to get anything out (i should really have syphoned it) so thats virtually all of the cold break in the fermenter :x
Hope it turns out ok, right im off to purchase a new hopstrainer :D

del, glad you had a good brewday, why not make a hopstopper, I've only use mine once but it stopped a hell of a lot trub and hop pellet muck, as well as the hop flowers and seeds. proper mint like

Max, I've got 5 fvs, two sealed ones, two 5 gallon and a 10 gallon one.

del, Aleman pointed me in the direction of a site where he had made and photographed his.

it's basically two pieces of 30cmx30cm mesh from Inoxia, a T piece, a 90 bend and pipe to join to your tap, mine looks a bit 'Dr Frankenstein' as I crimped mine on the edges rather than sewing it. I'll try and find the link, here's a piccy of my effort, the T piece is hidden between the skins, I'm well pleased with the way it works.

Sure the 3.5kg of CaCl isn't contributing to the blocking?

Drinking: London Porter (5%)
Drinking: Belgian Dubbel (8%)
Conditioning: West Coast Red (5.6%)
Conditioning: Nelson & Friends Series No.1 (Mosaic)
FV: A few spiders

I made one of those mesh hop strainers out of frying pan covers but got fed up with cleaning it! Worked though.

I'm hoping to do a C. Dobbin tomorrow, but was going to do the original recipe posted here with the Northdown and Challenger split for bittering. Any reason why you modified it Del?
