Let the Stockpiling Begin

Well you gussed it the big girl had a grand day out today, after making a few adjustments to her treatment things went swimmingly,
I decided to do a Pale, keep it simple, I find the hardest part is to choose a recipe or design one, time I suppose.
Anyhu, some details.

Batch 40 Ltr
10 Kg Pale 2-row
1 Kg Crystal

Mash 1 hr at fizackaly 67 Deg and fly sparged at 77 deg.

Boil 90 min

50g Progress 60 min
20g progress 30 min
30g Fuggles 15 min along with the moss,

I stopped collecting at 1.014, I must make up a chart for the temp correction.

The OG was 1.057 and it tastes flippin gorgeous, it should be ballanced quite well after fermentation using a 1 ltr starter from S04.

I had a great day and faster than the last and a lot more relaxed, have not a bog what the efficiency is I suppose me stopping sparging at 1.014 did not help but I wold prefer to loose some efficiency rather than pick up tannins etc.

The jacket water heating system is the business, so much control it's silly, but it ment the mash went very well indeed.

I must get some software to have a play with, I half estimated the gravity to be 1.055 to 56 so I'm happy.

I still cant get over how good it smells compared to the kits, anyone got a time machine I could borrow to forward three weeks to have a taste, I'd come right back I sware.

Oh yeah, me twelve cornies arrived yesterday :D , ball lock at 33 Euro each from can direct, and a few fancy taps to make a desiginated beer fridge. The cornies mean I can put down a large volume and have it condition well, the biger beers that is.

And to top the day the Missus is taking me out for an Italian (meal, not a person) on account of me Birthday coming up, to be honest I dont even know what age, I could work it out if I cared, 38 I think, and later if I play me cards right......... \:D/

Life is good, good beer, good food, good friends and good women :D
