Cornie connections

I'm collecting my gas bottle today and BOC have asked me about my regulator and gas tubing:





They are wondering what the pressure rating for the gas tubing is and they thought that the max PSI would be marked on the tubing (doesn't look like it though) - does anyone have this tubing and know what it's 'spec' is?

The tubing is 3/8" I think - as supplied by Norm and the regulator is from the Welding Warehouse - I'm going to send them a mail and ask for a spec sheet. I know I can connect one end of the tubing to the grey disconnect on the keg - can the other end push straight onto the reg or should I secure it with a hose clip?

Hi Niall, Ive had that tubing to 110psi no probs.

Looking at your reg the beer line only goes to 6 bar/14lb ish, so you've got nothing to worry about

Great, should be OK then. Can't see myself using anywhere near that pressure.

I've actually ordered a flow gauge that's 0 to 4 bar to replace this as this gauge is in L/Min. What PSI would 4 bar/6 bar go to normally or is there a direct correlation?

Having recieved new cornie, the disconnects have a male thread on them any body know which straight adaptor i need for a push fit take off?

I've totally misread that scale on your dials Niall

It shows the black numbers, on the right hand dial, as bar, and a range of 0-6 bar. Surely that's not right

No? I'm confused - it's the first regulator I've ever seen so I've nothing to compare it to - what's not right?

The red numbers are usually psi, as in the dial on the left.

The black and red numbers should tally, as DaaB said, 1 bar is 14.7 psi

This gauge is in Lines/Min as against PSI (which is why I'm replacing it). Does this explain it?

i understand that it's 3/8 outlet but what is the thread on the outlet side of the disconnect ?iv'e had a look on the JG site but is the thread ..bsp,nptf or whitworth,or something else??

I'm hoping to order an adaptor too as the one Norm supplied with his regulator is too big for the new regulator.

The fit of the hose on the regulator's connection is not exactly snug and I suppose I could secure it with a hose clip but I was hoping to replace it with a JG adaptor. When I check their site for BSP thread under drinks dispense it returns one match: http://www.johnguest.co.uk/part_spec.asp?s=SI01_D2 which I think is the same as the one Norm supplied. Does it matter which set of fittings I choose or will any adapter of the right size be suitable?

Incidentally you can just about see the new gauge fitted on the left of the regulator, it arrived yesterday

Good to know it doesn't have to be Super Seal. I must have a look online for the JG fittings then - the John Guest site itself doesn't seem to sell direct.
