-Winter Lightning- Changed the recipe again!


4500g Pale Malt

200g Wheat

50g Challenger Hops at boil (@ 90mins) 37IBU

25g Goldings Hops (@ 10mins)

10g Challenger Hops (@ 10mins)

As always will get loads of photos.

As promised here are the pics.

It was a good brewday, though I forgot to add the 200g of wheat....ahhh well added it to the batch sparge stage so not sure it'll do anything.

All went smoothly though and got around 23L of wort. Lovely pale colour too.

I diluted the wort a bit to bring down the gravity to just under 1040.

Started at 6:30pm and finished 1:30am, took quite a bit longer than my first all grain but thats due to letting the liquids settle longer and the amount of time it took to bring 30L to the boil.

Managed to get a lot more wort from the boiler since I modified my hop strainer.

Well thats it........another good brew day. Using S04 yeast again on this one and its fermenting well.

I like the look of that hop strainer. is it welded together or just 'push fit'?

Its just push fit. Makes it easy to position it low.

Well thats it finished at 1008, another fast ferment. Works out to be around 4.2%

Good colour and barreled most of it.
