using an electrim 75 with my next brew for santas winter wamer, is this ok to use at the factory setting? Also can i just put this in my 25l fermenting bin over the side under the lid.

You don't really want the element in contact with the side of the fermenter. Its best to drill a hole through the centre of the lid and use the bung that is pre-fitted.

I don't know what the Winter warmer recommended temperature range is for fermenting, but I would imagine its probably OK. The standard setting is about 22c on mine without fiddling with the thermostat control

I think it would be worth testing it beforehand - I am going test with mine anyway. The destructions say that the factory setting is around 24C. Whatever the default setting it only takes a couple of hours to stick it in a bucket and test it with a thermometer - why risk ruining a brew for the sake of a little extra effort?

Mine is on factory settings and seems to be running at 20c .. Probably best to test it like you plan with water first.
