AG#10 Ridiculously hoppy 21/10/08

AG#10 Into the double numbers. I'm flying now. I remember AG#1 just over 2 months ago.
As its my last brew before xmas i thought i'd use up all the little bits, hence the name.
Also a reason reason for the amount of full boil hops is that i have to boil 2 lots of wort as ive only got a 15L stockpot, so im hoping that this'll balance it out better.

90min boil
25L

4.5kg Marris Otter.
260g Amber malt.
210g Terrified wheat.
500g Pale crystal malt.
224g Crystal malt.
10g Irish moss.

Full boil hops
40g Northdown.
30g Challenger.
20g Cascade.

Last 20 mins
20g Cascade.
20g Fuggles.
20g Styrian Goldings.
20g Northdown.
20g Challenger.

Flame off
21g Fuggles.
20g Styrian Goldings.
20g Northdown.
20g Challenger.
20g Amarillo
17g Northern Brewer.
5g Cascade.

So what do ya think, have i gone overboard?
It should be matured in time for xmas.

Don't expect to taste half the varieties in there, but do expect to taste HOPS  In my humble experience hop aroma dissapears all too quickly with flameout, even 80° additions, given your maturing 'til Xmas, why not hold back the hop variety aroma you most like and dry hop in a muslin bag 2 weeks before the big day? That way the aroma will deffo be there, if you want it that is.

Whorst - im about to drop in a pack of windsor. Its just livening up at the mo.

Si - got 100g of Fuggles & might drop the other 20g of Challenger in at a later date.

Done ok with this. OG 1045. 28L, didnt have to water it down with boiled water this time. Can anyone work out an efficiency of this?

"It's ridiculous. It hoppy. It's Ridiculously Hoppy!"

Does exactly what it says on the keg.

Feck me. I thought my brew from yesterday with 250g of hops in 23l was going to be hoppy. It must be extreme hops season.

You've created a monster.......

That's the efficiency figures I get when put into Beersmith with reasonable extraction figures (Beersmith tends to be 0.002 optomistic on light malts-apparently). So 72.78%, lovely :)

I think you're winning the "most amount of hops used in a single beer" competition at the moment.

I would have been tempted to up the abv, knowing how high the hop rates were

Maybe not for long......I've still got to dry hop my IIPA! A couple of ounces of Cascade and Amarillo should see me just about nose into the lead!
