Hamtleton Bard Supreme Lager
Hamtleton Bard Supreme Lager
I am brewed Hambleton BArd Supreme LAges which has been conditioning in a King Keg Top Tap for around two weeks, is that lng enough or should I leave it longer?
Re: Hamtleton Bard Supreme Lager
Personally, I'd leave it. I always feel that any brew will benefit from 4 weeks conditioning. Having said that, they'll be no harm trying a little sneeky one!

Re: Hamtleton Bard Supreme Lager
Thanks for your reply. I have tried a little sneeky one. The brew keeos a good head tastes OK. But as this is my first brew
I don't really have anything to gauge the taste against. Will the taste change much from what I have now?
Cheers

Re: Hamtleton Bard Supreme Lager
It certainly can do. My first beer was a Wherry. I tried the first one after 3 weeks; the last went something like 5 weeks later, and IMHO was much better than the first. I'd suggest keeping tasting notes so you can record how (if!) it develops over time.
Re: Hamtleton Bard Supreme Lager
Thanks for your advice Richard. I noticed you had a John Bull on the go, I heard today that they were going out of business!
Re: Hamtleton Bard Supreme Lager
So I understand. As you've observed I have one of these that I'm drinking at the moment. To be honest, I found it slightly disappointing. It's as true for home brew as it is for anything else; you get what you pay for. The JB Porter was an inexpensive single can kit, which for me produced a 'cheap' product. I've read that the Coopers range are very good as Brewferms are also supposed to be (I have a Grand Cru conditioning at the moment), though I've haven't tried either yet, however as a general rule I'm sticking to twin can kits for the future.
Re: Hamtleton Bard Supreme Lager
From what you say the product I am using isn't th ebest. I am just about to start a Northumberland Brown Ale, which was under 10 quid. I haven't seen the 2 can kits, how much do they cost?
