HB larger supreme
hello every one, this is my first post, hope all you fellow brewers out there will be able to help. i am going to brew for the first time soon and will be brewing HB larger supreme. does anyone know what temperature i should keep the brew at after fermentation has finished and once i have primed and bottled my brew. warm fo a few days then cool. can anyone tell me those temps as i would like to get them as close as posible. many thanks in advance.

Firstly, welcome to the forum & good luck with your brewing.
After fermenting & bottling, keep your bottles at a temp of around 18c-22c for the first 2-3 days, then move them to a cool storage area, preferably around the 12c-14c range.

wow, so quick! thanks for the response. i wont be brewing in england so the shed for conditioning is;nt an option. someone said that i could put it in an old fridge. do you think that would be ok? also do these temps also apply to pale ales?

The problem with storing it in the fridge is that if it is left in too long the Co2 (carbonation) levels will fall, resulting in a flat lager/beer. You would be better off chilling it for a couple of hours before you intend to drink your brew.

the problem is that i will be in a very hot country where no place outside or in (in my house) where i can get that temp. i was thinking that maybe i could set my fridge to a temp as near to 12c as possible. what do you think the lowest i could go is?

If you can set your fridge to around the 12c-14c temp, that will be fine. I have no problems storing my brews at these temperatures, one of the few advantages of living in the North East of the UK!
