Brewing Phil's Hefe recipe today, 23L batch

3kg Pale
3Kg Wheat

Hersbrucker 20g 60 mins
Hersbrucker 10g 15 mins


Mash started at 10:05. Got desired 67degC after a small cold liquor addition and lots of stirring! ( roll on HERMS :roll: )

Sparge liquor currently heating up in HLT.

Camera ready but no pics so far :)

Not too long now to end of mash so just getting underback, pump and spiny sparger in place ready for sparging.....

Boil complete, just letting it stand for 30 mins while I pump sanitiser and then water through the CFC...

All done.

OG 1051 which gives a pretty poor brewhouse efficiency of 61% but hopefully the end product should be worth it 8)

Five hours all told not including cleaning! :(

Frothers - the boiler is a 27L burco. I try to fill it as high as I dare and then top up with 'spare' wort after about an hour and then again 10 mins before power off.

You've got sharp eyes, that is indeed a keg in the background. It's 50L and may end up as a mash tun.

that boiler was definitely full :shock: Looks like a productive day. :D

BTW, the IPA has cleared down beutifully now :D
