Re: AG 4 Bouncing Squirrel 30/11/2008
Water went on at 08:15 and its darn cold out in the garage. Grains are weighed out so are the hops.
I will update as the day goes on.
First problem with brewing in the garage at -3c my hoze has frozen this is going to cause hastle when I want to cool the wart.
Hit the mash temp pretty much bang on 66.5C.

Looks like a good recipe .. have you done this one before ? were you pleased with it or have you tweaked it ..

Came up with it last night after I had been to LHB to get some provisions got 1kg each various grains and more hops so I had the ability to brew pretty much anything.Danny wrote:Looks like a good recipe .. have you done this one before ? were you pleased with it or have you tweaked it ..
I have for the last 2 brews bunged together recepies and they both taste good so I am hoping this will be just as good.

Have a great brewday. You were up earlier than me this morning! Too much homebrew for me last night. Luck it does't seem to give bad hangovers.....although everything's a little fuzzy around the edges this morning.

Seems to have taken half a lifetime to get up to the boil I am seriously going to have to put a second eliment in the boiler or go over to gas for the boil. Hops have been bunged in after a skimming of the wort to get rid of the hot break mterial.
On a plus note the Mash tun alteration for fly sparging worked a treat.
All done and dusted put to bed with a packet of S-04 Hit 1050 and it is a little cloudy but that will drop out. Not to shabby 8 hours from start to finish.

After 2 weeks in the fermenter due to the cool weather its been in the keg for 2 days but I just had to have a wee taste it has a very lager colour
but is very drinkable . Wife said quafable this is going to be such an easy drink to get through.
