Santas Winter Woefull

My Santas winter warmer kit seems to have stuck at 1021.

Instructions say it should go to 1014.

OG was 1053 as per the instructions, and it seemed to ferment well at first, lots of bubbles and foam, but then I had to move the heaterbelt off it to warm up a stuck wherry in another bucket. :o

It may have got down to about 17 degrees during a few nights.

Once the wherry got down to 1016 I gave up and kegged it and then put the heater back on the Santas. I have roused the yeast and even re-piched with some generic brewers yeast, I got a few bubbles at 1st but the SG doesnt seem to be dropping at all now, even though the temp is up at 21 deg.

Its been in the bucket for 16 days now.. any advice ?
I was intending to bottle it in 2L PET but I do have an empty corny ready if you folks think that would be better.

Please help me save it, it IS Xmas after all.

Yeah I heard it wasnt that nice, but I had already bought it by then.

Thats why I want to bottle it, so if its awfull I can give it away as xmas presents.. :D
or cellar it for 5 years or so till I am really thirsty.

My only worry with bottling is, if the fermentation is really "stuck" then will it carbonate in the bottles at all ?

I dont want it to be bad tasting AND flat.. :|

I hate to see any brew get tossed, you never know what might happen with it! Persevere, it might turn out to be a cracker!! These miracles happen all the time [-o< =D>

Thanks Dich and Chris. I can see your realy feeling my pain..

Like KevP sugests I am going to Persevere, it cost me 20 notes after all.

I have decided to leave it as it is till the weekend then bottle it in 2L plastic and see what happens.

I had a sneaky taster today and it wasnt THAT awful, my calculations say it should be about 4.9% even if it fements no more, so I can always use it to make shandys when grandma comes over during the festivities. :)

Besides I need the bucket to put a coopers stout in. Dich you are a bad influence.
