Martialant, Say Wooosah! I'm not too bothered when they arrive, i am offshore Ibiza at the moment and not due back till mid December anyway. I just hope they will thrive in NE Scotland climate. I bought 4 as i have 4 relatively sheltered sites in the garden to try then out in, hoping for 2 out of 4 to survive and take hold. Going to get in touch witha mate of mine and get him to keep me a big bag of chickenshit and straw next time he cleans his chickenhouse out. Try and give them a running start come spring. I was looking on homebrewtalk last night and in the states the rizzies are not for sale till March/April!

Just had the postman trying to fit a big package through the letterbox. Anyway i started opening it & my first thought when i could smell the damp soil was "who would be sending me a load of magic mushrooms"? Then realised ITS MY HOP RIZZIES!!!

Well ive got to say, being persistent & down right sarcastic & cheeky you get stuff in the end. I dont think they'd be here now if i had just waited silently.

I ordered 4 but as i had the balls to ask for an extra hop for the waiting they sent me an extra 1. I did ask for a Northern Brewer hop but they sent a Northdown. Im not complaining at all, im just glad i have them now.
So now to get planting.

Great result, well chuffed for you. I got in touch by mail yesterday as i could not complete my order through Paypal, so i've requested they send me the mail address to pay to and i'll send a direct payment. changed my order while i was there to

Its to give more detail on the specific plants than a plus supply. Subsub where would you say is a reliable and efficent supplier of Rhizzies then?

Pants - i misread your post. Thought you meant they sold rizzies.

I think for the first lot of hop rizzies you neeed to buy them. Then a year or 2 down the line you can offer swops with other brewers on here once your root stock doodar is big enough to hack bits off.

Unless of course there are really really generous people on here that would be prepared to donate you a piece or maybe swop for a few gallon of home brew.

Thanks for letting me know you've received your hop plants. We weren't being difficult over a delivery time, it really does depend on the weather as to when we can lift the plants. The plants do need frosts to make the tops die back before they can be lifted and we haven't had many frosts here in suffolk yet. In fact we still have lots of plants still in the fields and lots of commerical orders to fill before christmas. The other problem the weather causes, if we have had the frosts, is that rain doesn't make it easy for us to get the plants off the field, so you see we really are limited by the weather conditions, but i'm glad to hear we have made you happy.

I hope you get plenty of good beer from your plants!!!
