Black treacle is 50% mollasses and 50% golden syrup.
As said above quite a few health food shops stock mollasses as it is seriously high in iron content.
Interstingly a 10:1 mollasses solution (in water) makes an amazing de-ruster. I've used it in my other hobby (building cars). Works a treat :) All to do with chelating agents in it apparantly.

Try your local Julian Graves store. I was in one today (honest, I'm not a health foodie. please believe me).

They have small jars of mollasses. 340grams for 99p. Not especially cheap but I'm guessing you'll only need 2 or 3 jars.

Black Treacle is available in most supermarkets in a red tin next to the golden syrup (green tin)
