Minimum temperature for storing beer

Post by bitter_dave » Thu Nov 02, 2006 11:18 am

Hi fellas

Since about march/april I've been keeping my barrels of beer in the outhouse in my garden (i.e. like a shed). Now, however, I'm wondering if it's getting too cold to do this. Does anybody know the minimum temperature at which you can store beer (i.e bitter)? I may have to move barrels indoors, which is a bit of a shame because there isn't anywhere particuarly cool in my house

Edit - if I keep my barrels at room temp I guess the beer should be ok? :?

Not sure how cold is safe, but i keep my kegs in the garage and they are kept cool in there with no danger of getting to cold.
Could wrap the keg in a blanket to warm it a little if needed?
