Xmas Mild

Post by tomU » Thu Dec 18, 2008 11:07 am

I'm in London for 3 weeks and I've got all my brewing gear and a load of leftover ingredients from last summer so I'm gonna use up a bunch of stuff and do a mild. Hopefully it'll be ready to drink in a fortnight...

Recipe:

3.8kg pale malt
250g carapils (I dont have any crystal)
200g chocolate
100g black malt

20IBUs challenger start of boil
SO4 yeast

I could tweak the special malts a bit if anyone has any thoughts on the ratio I've got here?
Might get a piccy or two...

Yeah, pretty well thanks. Still managing to get plenty of brews done in my residence kitchen. I'll be along to the meeting at the wenlock in Jan, hopefully with a couple of bottles of mild if it turns out ok...
