I'm interested in trying to brew up a version of the old Firkin staple Dogbolter from AG and so I'm trying to put a recipe together. From what I can find on the web it seems that it used roasted barley, chocolate and crystal malts and late kettle Fuggles - other than that it's a bit difficult to find much info; it seems it should be 1.060 o.g. and 5.6% ABV (so I guess around 1.018 f.g.). I'm assuming a pale malt as the base - probably Maris Otter for preference.
Does anyone know anything more about this beer - and have any hints for a recipe?
Anyone got an AG Dogbolter recipe

I thought all the Firkin breweries used extract

Re: Anyone got an AG Dogbolter recipe
They may, but the original recipe was made from over sparging their barleywine/ strong ale when he went to answer the phone. Or so the story goesAleman wrote:I thought all the Firkin breweries used extract![]()
