was going to do lidle wine but local hb not open and wilco in halifax has very little stuff so will get some on line as i need some malt for my coopers stout.
i like a drop of cider now and again not so much likes of strong bow ect too chemically for me ,magners/bulmers nice drop.
what i really like is the stuff you get in france with champagne type corked bottles very tre bon
if it turns out like that will be chuffed.
how long does this yeast take to work got two lots in there now and nish...i am very impatient.

Don't fret - my TC generall takes 12 to 24 hours to kick-off and ferments out in 7 to 12 days. Big plus is, with 5 DJs I can pretty much cover every month in TC!

Some of my best TC has been made with bread yeast; maybe because it ferments less than cider yeasts?

Im a heathen an just use bread yeast, lets see 8 packets from tesco for 95p or 1 packet from the brew shop for £1.80..... I might try one batch once with cider yeast to see if there is any noticable taste difference, but i very much doubt i will.

I've noticed a big difference between two batches made at the same time, same ingredients one with cider yeast and one with champagne yeast. The cider yeast one was not as dry, I preferred it although both were good.

My best ciders (two of them) were made using Saflager, fermented at 10°C. My worst ciders (two of them) were made with wine yeast. It's a small sample... I've only made 4 total!
Secondary FV: As yet unnamed Weizenbock ~7%
Bulk aging: Soodo: Grocery store grape juice wine experiment.
Drinking: Evan Williams bourbon, Dewar's Scotch (white label), VO Canadian whisky. Various Sam Adams beers.

racked the cider into another demi with some aj will leave to mature for a while then bottle it. had a good taste of it when checking the fg ,waste not want not ,it tastes good a bit dry for me but very drinkable. :D
will put some more aj straight into the demi with the same yeast and get some more on the go .
