Out of Date?
Out of Date?
I have been given a homebrew kit (it's stout which isn't usually my thing but it is free so thort i'd give ot a go) but it is out of date.
anyone got any idea which part will be out of date?
If it is something that can be replaced then i'll just change it.

Re: Out of Date?
I didn't a Wherry recently that was out of date in August 2008 and the malt made the brew a lot darker than the normal Wherry so you may find the same.Scott wrote:It's about 4-5months out.
Re: Out of Date?
Get it brewed - I've made a kit that was several years out of date and the only thing I changed was the yeast.
Re: Out of Date?
I was surprised to find that the yeast in my kit which was at least two years old was fine so you never know although a spare yeast might come in handy.stevezx7r wrote:Get it brewed - I've made a kit that was several years out of date and the only thing I changed was the yeast.

It was free and its only a few months out of date.
Go on. Live dangerously! Brew it with the original yeast.
