Breweve: Blindsided Bitter

Post by Matt » Mon Jan 12, 2009 1:50 pm

I did a big clean down of my kit before Christmas (4 batches lost, suspected acetobacter infection, I'm sure I mentioned it  ) and brewed my first batch yesterday. My fridge is still smelling nasty, so this one is fermenting in SWMBO's office

Blindsided Bitter
93% MO
7% Amber
50/50 mix of Challenger and Styrian Goldings to 27 IBU, all FWH'd
OG 1043
Nottingham with a flying starter

An easy drinker with a bit of malt character to kick off the year.

Brew evening went well and I hit 23 litres @ 1043, so the gods of brewing are back on my side [-o<

Cheers lads, all going fine so far and SWMBO hasn't yet complained about the vague ethanolic flavour to the air in her study :D
