Winter Sun Imperial IPA 07/12/08
Re: Winter Sun Imperial IPA 07/12/08
This keg of beer is scheduled to be drunk on Saturday night (or quite a lot of it anyway).
I dry hopped it on Sunday with 25g of Amarillo and I've been sampling it for the last few days to see how the flavour is progressing. There's definite orange marmalade notes coming off it now....getter bigger every day.
I think I'll leave it until Friday then pull the hops out.
It's a bit hazy, but then again almost all the Imperial IPAs I have tried have been hazy.

Nothing wrong with hazy, the pursuit of the perfectly clear pint is overrated IMHO. Think Weiss and Scrumpy, nothing wrong with them.
Re: Winter Sun Imperial IPA 07/12/08
I love a good Weiss or Wit beer. I plan to brew several for the coming spring
I'm OK with hazy as long as the beer is good.

Not much of this one left now....the keg feels too light for it's own good. It's going to be blowing bubbles soon....
Which is a shame as this has been a truly excellent beer. It's now got to the point that it tastes a bit like Seville Marmalade.....in a good way!

Now I need to brew another IIPA or maybe a Trippel.....
So many beers, so little time.....I've got a Stout yeast cake (already done a Guinness clone with it, and it's currently finishing up Four Shades of Stout) to use for an Imperial Stout this weekend and I've also got a pack of Wyeast Belgian Abbey that is scheduled for a Belgian type Pale Ale which could be followed up by a Trippel type beer. But I also need to do an American/New Zealand/Australian IPA....and....and...and.....
Dammit - I need more FVs!

Now that's the kind of pint that's easy to find on the continent but damn hard to find in the UK, looking good.
