BD indeed this was the first beer I didnt bother putting first runnings back, also boiler switched on as soon as element covered and adjusted ph mash. All in all very pleased and drinking this again tonight ( temps have risen in smurf land so even chill haze has gone :D )
You've certainly got your money's worth out of that Dave Line book
...and theres a lot of recipes left ( Harveys Sussex still on the horizon )

Cheers

I have volunteered to give a talk/demo on all grain beer making at my wino club next year so intending to brew this harveys brew for sampling that night ( need to wait for father christmas to bring a crown capper and lots of bottles first )

up til now it was eldridge pope royal oak but I had some very good comments from far better beer judges than myself with the courage directors.
However this ruddles is the donkey b****s. I think I will brew another one to take a full corni along on the night hence my question the other day on how many pints I could serve ( there will be 30+ people present ) without having to take the huge co2 cylinder along and scare the heebeegeebees out of them

This ruddles is just getting better and better :D . I must do another brew to put the 'mash tun temp compression fitting thingy' I have recently fitted and the B&Q water filter through their paces and I am seriously tempted to do this one again it really is a beaut :D.

That Dave Line must have drunk a fair few pints to have refined his beers so well
