gelatin
gelatin
is this the same kind that you can buy in supermarkets? i read that it helps the yeast settle in the beer and clear it. is it worth using? also could it be used to help clear turbo cider? just thought i might give it a go if it is easy to get hold of. just wanted to see what everyones opinion of it is.

Hi Sam, yes it's the same stuff you see in supermarkets. I get the Supercook stuff (although I see it's changed brand name now) and there are five or so sachets in a box.
I use it to clear my beer and it does a great job, I see no reason why it couldn't be used for TC.

thanks andy. dont think i will be able to find that brand as im in thailand but i saw some in the supermarket a couple of days ago so i might give it a go in my batch of ausie pale ale ive got on the go. can you tell me if this is correct, 1 table spoon to 1 pint of cold water and gently heat until disolved. then add to the brew when you add priming sugars? im brewing 19 litres so im not sure if this is the correct amount?

Mm beer jelly. LOL
nah seriously tho this could be usefull. How do you add it? and when?
I dont mind my beer been cloudy, cos at least i know what the cloudyness is. But some people wont touch the stuff cos they think its off or something.

Hey, Can I ask what you are doing in Thailand? Living, Working, Traveling???
I really enjoyed the last two weeks of my 6 months traveling in Thailand, I had a Thai friend being my tour guide in Bangkok which was great, only thing was the 43 degree heat wiped me out by mid afternoon. The people were great, and it has to be the cleanest dirty place I have visited, people seem to take a pride in their little bit being tidy, far more friendly than Beijing for instance too.
