cider kit from wilkos any good??

hi the lad i work with likes cider and i have given him a demi john got him started with tc ,but he was thinking of a larger quantity so i said i would check on here about cider kits from wilkos, has any one done one and was it easy to do and taste good cheers in advance ,glyn

If you mean the Brew Buddy kit, they're not bad, but not as good as the John Bull kit I used to use - not so full flavoured. I usually make these cider kits up to 32 pints, but the BB one would probably benefit from an even lower volume if you want a good flavour.

One a brighter note, cider kits are probably the easiest kits of all to do. Some folk have added apple juice instead of sugar, with good results, but it does bump up the cost quite a bit. I would advise bottling for a good level of carbonation.
