had my pal down for a few scoops of the stout he was impressed..did the turn the tap the wrong way trick again...plonker!! will have to change the tap when the keg is empty,which should not be long ha.been in the keg 2 days and the malty taste from the priming has calmed down a bit just a nice proper stout like taste...nice . had a few pints tonight sat and tried to work out the abv...gave up and just reflected on how good it tastes what ever the strength is,it does the trick and should sleep like a baby tonight....yeh wake up every 2 hours screaming for the tit lol go on ollie its been in the keg long enough get some inter yer cheers all glyn..hic""

been in the keg for 6 days now and has cleared and has a nice reddy glow when held up to the light and tastes great half way down the barrel . going to get some more on the go maybe at the week end . with either dark spray malt or dark liquid malt from coopers of course.
off to my mums in richmond tomorrow got a safety course in stockton and hop and grape hbs is on my way back how convenient ha
i can honestly say this is the best beer i have tasted and will be tasting a lot more in the future last orders gentlemen please.........not in my house pal

Hey up !

Right, I got me keg sorted finally (different thread?!) and I had to check it was holding pressure so there was no there way than to slup a few jars !!

Just over the last week the taste has changed immensley ( I sampled a bit last week and that was when i realised my keg wasnt pressurised)). I have to admit when I first had a taste, i wasnt disappointed, but i wasnt over enamoured either. Now its different, and it it continues to get better, coz Im now gonna leave it another 3 or 4 weeks, if i can, then itll be superb!

I used brewing sugar, so the result is one that is a little watery for me, but its not an issue and im glad now i have a benchmark. The flavour however is amazing. I poured a small glass and stood tasting and analysing in my mind the explosion of flavours. I just had to pour another, and then another. I almost cant quite explain it, but this shit is tastey !! It really is. Its nice, really nice. Its lovely and dark and seemed to hold it head well and the tastes just won me over instantly.

Its yet to pass any sort of "mates test" so maybe i am biased towards my own brew having sat watching her blossom from just a can and sachet of yeast....... but i dont see how anyone that likes stout could dislike this, the flavours are spot on.

I happened to notice in the lhbs store that he has a good stock of coopers and the cans of malt extract too. I will definitley be tryin it with a can of extract next !

I can see me needing more kegs.......... damn it this is supposed to be cheap?!

TL; Why would anyone want to make 'Guinness' ? I mean, seriously mate; I drink the stuff all the time, in town. Because there's simply nothing else available to me there. But it really is about a bland as dish water.

I regularly see the 'Guinness Gestapo' vans too. Their blokes who go around the pubs, ensuring that every single pint ever poured is identical to every other. It's like Microsofts answer to drink We Will have it exactly Their way. And their way is ~ sorry, but; Bland.

oh it just gets better, my mum is drinking it and liking it,not though my turbo cider.took some for my dad he loved it my mate will be poping by for a snifter when he gets a pass out from the war office(wife).drinking it right now on a school night lol its a bit flat as transported in 2 litre water bottles but does not matter its still taste the dogs.
popped into hop & grape got my self another can and a can of coopers dark malt, got a bigger fv just for the stout brewing purposes.
burgo if you like stout this is the stuff please believe all you hear especially from mr ditch he is all knowing guru of the coopers stout dept and possibly a distant relitive .so its in the blood cheers

going to get this on the go on sunday quick question do i need to boil the extract or just put in with boiling water,only asking as read that extract brews boil the malt but i guess thats because you add speciality malts to the boil as well cheers this is still going down nicely and my mate is so impressed he is going to brew some also. then at least when i go up his house i can drink his instead of carting mine up lol

My Coopers stout will be going in the FV with a kilo Dark Spray Malt tomorrow I'm half tempted to split the batch into my two 25L FV's and maybe add some muscovado sugar to one of them... I'm not sure yet, I bet a bit of steeped liquorice root might be interesting too.

pdtnc that sounds very interesting give it a twirl ,just a hint of licorice would be quite nice i reckon.

I'm no pro, but I do sell my photography for royalty free stock, which brings in a nice amount of spending money a month
You can tell her that I have mounted her sheep many times... I used to work at Fresco down in Lud'foot untill the end of may last year

that is crazy she gets them done onto canvas at sowerby bridge now a lot easier to mount i was getting roped into tacking them on with sticky backed velcro!!
i will tell her she will not believe me lol sounds like a plan with the pics on line to get royalties instesd of being stuck on a hard drive ..not earning money there . cheers glyn

as far as the stock photography goes, I can make between $300 and $500+ a month in 'almost' passive income (i.e. not a lot of work once its all online)

I'm back to my roots with work now, being an Engineer, Fresco was just a side step and engineering pays more!
