Just bought 30L Sainsburys 13p-2Litre table water...
I spent less than 2 quid! Just a shame there is no analysis of the water contents, I would expect it to just be filtered Tap water.
I'm planning on using this tomorrow with my coopers Stout kit and 1Kg of dark Spray Malt, I'm presuming I won't have to do any water treatment, gypsum, sodium chloride etc?? Cheers
I thought the whole point of using 'Supermarket' water is that it had a 'water composition' printed on it so you more or less knew where you were . . . without that you are worse off than brewing with Tap water which you can at least get a basic set of figures for. . . . This is why Chris and I keep mentioning Asda Smart Price and Tesco Ashburton Spring water specifically as we know from the published figures that they are low in alkalinity . . . . and indeed I have measured some just to be on the safe side
Another Bottled water to avoid is Morrisons Still Spring water as that has a bicarbonate level of 280 . . .and sodium of 75 . . . but you can use it to boost soft waters for dark beers
