I live in Bolton, No Wilkos there

but

Passing through Warrington I dropped off to pick up a youngs pressure barrel and right next to that was the Wherry kit.

They were selling them on the net but it is showing out of stock. There is a facility for them to email you when they come back in though.

Even if your local Wilkos doesn't have them in stock like mine in Market Harborough, go to the checkout and order one. They'll get it in for you to collect within a couple of days.

You guys are crazy. The op was trying to tell you of a genuine retailler who has a good special offer and you go on about how wonderful Wilkinsons are. For a start they only have Wherry and when have you ever got any advice about anything in Wilkinsons?
Please give the home brew trade your support and not a supermarket.

true wilkos aren't wonderful they don't sell spraymalt, malt extract or hops. however for the basics they are very handy.

i put on my facebook - "support your local homebrew shop" as my status, after dropping into the brewshop in stockport. i got a few comments saying stuff like "do homebrew shops still exist?" so i'm all for brew shops trying their best to take some trade from wilkos. anyway a trip to the brew shop is a day out for me so its a right novelty!

I too am tempted by my local wilkinsons but have resisted so far. True the kits are always a couple of quid cheaper but no friendly, wise words from the seasoned old guy who runs the homebrew store? Life would be just that little bit less bearable if homebrew stores closed down!
