I bottles my first brew (a Youngs Lager kit) a week past Wednesday. Now I know I shouldn't be rushing these things but couldn't resist popping the top off one to try after a week.
Problem is although the beer had a slight carbonation it had a fairly strong taste of cider!! I had a taste before I bottled and was fairly happy with the result.
OG was 1040 and FG was 1006 for 2 days before bottling. I bottled with 1tsp sugar per 500ml bottle (some other posts on the forum advised a tsp instead of 1/2 tsp for Lager)
The bottles have been in a cupboard indoors for a week and I have now moved them to the garage to lager for another couple of weeks.
Can anyone put my mind at rest and tell me that they've had this problem and this "cider" taste will go away oer the next while?? and should I leave them indoors for longer or will they be better in the garage now??

Thanks
