Having made a vast number of kits now.....(6 since January ) can anyone tell me whether it is best to sprinkle the yeast powder onto the top or stir it in?

I have done both in my brewing with no noticable difference. I prefer sprinkling tho as its less hassle. I only stirred once cos I got distracted and didnt sprinkle so i ended up with a small Island of yeast floating in my brew.
i have to stir because theres usually a good head of foam after aeration and the yeast just sits on the top.
i try to make a few gaps but just feel the need to help it through.
on one thread on here last week, chris i think recommended sprinkling the yeast, waiting twenty minutes and then giving it a good stir.

if youve been successful so far, id just carry on doing it the way you did before.
When the fermentation gets going, enough to blow through the airlock sometimes, you have "convection currents" due to escaping CO2 that look like a lava lamp on steroids. So you don't really need to stir. Later when everything has settled down, a stir and a bit of yeast vit might help if the gravity is a bit high.
