Hambleton, Big Ted, Humpty Dumpty etc

Bough a Hambleton Bard Amber Export dried kit just to see what they're like. Of course I believed the advertisimng that just said "only water to add" but find sugar is required also.

Would I use cane sugar, glucose or DME with this (am asking because, as the kit is already dried I'm not sure of the effect of extra DME) and, if DME, what style to maintain the beer's colour?

I make the amber export on a regular basis. infact i have got one at home now and it says on the box only sugar and water to add. I always use any sort of brown sugar but not to dark and this gives me the perfect flavour.

That's cracking then, thank you! I'll get fom light brown in to do it with.

Having never don an HBard kit before, how do they stack up against canned kits?

Pretty much the same really, although the woodfordes kits are the best.
