Eisbock

Post by FlourPower » Fri Feb 20, 2009 12:58 pm

I've planned a bock but I'm tempted to keep some back as an Eisbock. Was wondering if this process would be legal in the UK as it's reeks of distillation. Does any one have a method also? I have friends with walk in freezers so shouldn't be a problem to freeze a gallon or two.
Drinking: Turbo Cider, Black Rain Stout, Jotun Killer Double Stout, Apple Wine, AG#1 F.A.G,
Fermenting: Bramble Wine
Conditioning: Blueberry Jam Mead, Gales Mead, HLM EPIC FORCE Methegln, Tropical Juice TC on an orange mead slurry, AG#2 S.L.A.G.
Waiting for Space: Muntons Conn: Bock

It isn't distillation though is it - I doubt its illegal. Its only what accidentally happens in some pub cellars occasionally in cold weather!

It's not distillation and it's not illegal. Probably one of the most challenging beers you can make though. Involves first making a decent doppelbock, which itself is quite an advanced style of beer to make.

Thanks Chris,

In which case I guess this thread should stop here.
