Cooper's Kits
Cooper's Kits
Hi all
The guy at my local HB shop advised me that cooppers beer kits are probably the best kit in that price range, I think he charges about £11.00 or £12.00. Has anyone had much experiance with coopers kits? If so are they any good and can anyone reccommend any nice one's.
Cheers guys

Aah! A bag? What, 500g? If so, be aware that ye should be using a Kilo of spray malt. There for, I'd suggest ye get a 500g bag of Medium or Dark, to go with that light. Then ye should produce a lovely pint

Re: Cooper's Kits
Its a kilo bag, but I may buy a bag of medium or dark then I can mix it and have enough left for another kit.Ditch wrote:Aah! A bag? What, 500g? I'm drinking a Coopers Australian Lager at the mo and its a very nice pint. I used normal tate & lyle though and its got a slight cidery taste. Got a Coopers Stout in the FV as its seems popular to say the least on here, have a read of the 'coopers stout tips please' thread and you'll see what I mean.
These are my first two kits and I'm already hooked! Get one in the FV and you'll be supping your own beer in under a month!

Im not a great fan of lager I usualy brew brupaks pride of yorkshire kits when I can afford them, I am just looking for a good quality cheap kit cos youngs and tom caxton have a bit of a twang sometimes, especially if you use tom caxtons hop enhancment sachetsBlue Brew wrote:I'm drinking a Coopers Australian Lager at the mo and its a very nice pint. Re: Cooper's Kits
John; If ye can readily access DSM? Personally, I'd grab a Kilo of Medium and save that Light to put with a more suited brew. I've always used a full kilo of MDSM in my Coopers. I have some DDSM to try out some time. Meanwhile, I believe " The Embalmer " has reported fine results with DDSM. So, both M and D appear to hit the mark. But I'd stick with one or the other, for now, as ye can.
Storing the stuff? I've never opened a 500g pack and then had to store it. If ye've inadvertently opened one? I'd say a well filled air tight would be fine.
Oh, alright; I'd sit and eat the f*cking stuff!
Tastes gorgeous!

I might give that a go, I do like a nice dark ale. Have you ever tried a mix of brown sugar and spraymalt?
