Hi all,
I've only brewed a few kits and I don't have much idea about which ones are the best, I full mash at the moment, so I thought I'd ask the resident experts. My cousin is turning 21 in about a month and he has developed an interest in brewing, since a brewery tour round woodfordes. What are the best packages that include a pressure barrel and a kit do you think are around on the internet shops?
We could get him a woodfordes package for about £40 with a youngs pressure barrel and a wherry kit, strange they've changed from the KKs they used to seel, must've had some complaints. I am reluctant to do this due to the mass of problems on this board about muntons kits. Are there any better deals with whatever kits you guys think are the best?
Many thanks to you all for any advice.

if done right wherry can be excellent. and if there is an attack of the muntons just tell your cousin its all a steep learning curve but keep at it and give him the following website address w,w,w, dot, jims, beerkit, dot co dot uk forward slash forum.
worked wonders for me

For just a nice cheap starter kit try www.creativewinemaking.co.uk i also think maybe he should get into the swing of things before starting on woodfordes

Re: Suggest a start up package
Incase anything goes wrong in his first fermentation then when he gets round to doing a woodfordes/brupaks/milestone he will hopefully get the best outcome.
Re: Suggest a start up package
Do you not get the stuck ferments with any of the other kits then?
Re: Suggest a start up package
Don't really see how you can get any easier than a two can kit.silversurfer wrote:Incase anything goes wrong in his first fermentation then when he gets round to doing a woodfordes/brupaks/milestone he will hopefully get the best outcome.

Re: Suggest a start up package
I know but surely better to start off with a cheaper kit to practice on
