fancying a strong/small brew
fancying a strong/small brew
right i've done a few brews all of which have turned out ok but having seen the irish/russian imperial stout thread i fancy doing something slightly mental but on a smallish 18ish pint scale to leave to mature in bottles for a while.i'd also like to keep the price down because i'm tight....so far i've figured maybe a geordie bitter kit with dsm or dme reduced down so much less water than usual and with treacle/honey involved aswell. pitching with double yeast of???(ok so i dont know my yeasts) so any other suggestions?? i've done a brewferm grandcru and am still waiting on the maturation but fancy doing something a bit different. just something a little but mental to crack out at christmas
bob.

Re: fancying a strong/small brew
just thinking, seeing as the geordie kit is a 40 pint kit anyway i don't think i'd need to add as many extra fermentables as previously thought.....
Re: fancying a strong/small brew
I got my Brewferm Diablo up to 10.5%
Double up the kits to make to larger brew-length, (That said, a single can is 9Litre if i remember correctly, so maybe not double up if you don't want too much) bang in desired amount of sugar (not DSM, i can imagine it'd be a bit cloying in Belgian Beers)
Then hey presto, you'll be falling over in no time
