i wonder just how much money they have cheated customers out of. I had an email 2 days ago apologising for the situation, and stating that i will get a free gift with my order, lol. Id had enough by that point and placed an order with Hop and Grape, what a superb example of how an online retail business should be run. everything arived within two days (as i didnt pay for next day), with a nice letter, and a some freebies. I cant recomend them highly enough. on the point of recomendations, barley bottom also sorted out my check valve for me, and even sorted out all the right size pipes to connect my angram to a KK. Top Stuff.

Paul at Barley Bottom is very helpful, and a thoroughly nice bloke. His stuff is top quality too. 8)

He's also a forum member here, and I'm sure he'll not mind an extra plug... :D

Yup, I had this too. Told them to shove it as I had ordered from The Hop Shop as this was the only other supplier of dark crystal malt that I could find. The Hop Shop order arrived two days later. I normally use Hop And Grape, as their service is excellent.

You may have considered the order cancelled but it sounds like you didn't tell Easybrew.

In 2005 I had an order for a £1,000 PC delayed and delayed with "Simply" computers some years ago. I sent an email giving them 28 days to deliver or the order was cancelled with a CC of the email to my credit card company. When it didn't arrive within the time limit I got the money back from Visa. They then tried to deliver twice, each time I refused delivery (couriers can handle this, you sign say you're refusing). If they had managed to deliver, perhaps someone in the household signed while I was out, then the goods are unsolicited and you keep them safe and notify the supplier to arrange for them to be collected.

Again, any emails to the supplier should be CC'd to the card company "FYI".
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

I would recommend anyone having problems with Easybrew (or any other supplier, for that matter) to take it up with their local Trading Standards office.

Yes i too have had trouble is this company. Last year when i decided to enter into the world of homebrew i stumbled on there website and placed an order for a starter kit, 4 weeks later still nothing, i had phoned every chance i could for weeks then all of a sudden a women answered saying how sorry she was and all that s##T. i then eventual got my money back or so i was lead to believe until another 4 weeks later when a cheque came through the post saying the credit didn't go through originally. I dint check at the time. At least i got my money back eventual though. The funny thing was though they sent a voucher for 50% off my next order, which i thought was the con. Yes I'll place a nice big fat juicy order in now i can get 50% off............ mmmmmmmmmmmm............ Must think people of stupid.

Not sure if this is old news now, however thought I would post just in case!

I haven't brewed for a while and needed some stuff so drove past the Easybrew shop today (30/4/09)....there was a sign on the window saying Easybrew is no longer trading!! So it looks like they have definitly gone bust!

Sorry to hear about all the trouble people have been having, I'll have to stick to good old Hop and Grape from now on!

Was Easybrew a limited company? Companies go into receivership but individuals get made bankrupt. If Easybrew wasn't a limited company, then this woman may still be liable for problems with outstanding orders and non-returned money.

Worth looking into in a bit more detail.

If you paid by credit card then I believe that gives a certain amount of protection. IRC until you actually have the goods in your hands they're legally the property of the credit card company. Any lawyers here who can confirm this?
Best wishes
