youngs lambrini

hello all I've just had a taste of my youngs defenitive lager its been in the keg for nearly two weeks well eleven days curiosity got the better of me its still a bit green but to my suprise tastes quite good in a very strange way think a nice smooth slightly sweet wine.my first thought was lambrini but not so sweet.it had a good bit of head on it as it came out of the tap fingers crossed looks like this will be my first brewing success.
just thought ide share this has any body done this recently any thoughts is this as good as it gets or are better things to come picture to follow as number one child computer expert is in bed

If you have beer that taste like wine....well something definitely went wrong there

Well done on ye first success though It'll become a lot better with age, i generally find kits to be their best about 6 weeks old.
Now ye'll get the dreaded Brewing Disease, ye'll become obsessed, prowl these forums every waking hour, drool over shiny things, etc

yes i hope as it matures it starts to loose the sweet edge. i did a youngs brewbuddy lager before this one which was awfull had a very bitter after taste im obsessed already looking at things i cant afford to buy on ebay although there are some £20 corries on the ebay section i did think about getting one just to polish it

lager update
just got home from work so i thought i would see how the youngs is going on well it doesn't taste like cheap wine any more i must say i am quite impressed and possibly a bit proud of my self its been in the barrel aprox four weeks had plenty of fizz to it a good little head witch stayed . as for taste something like a strong shandy will have to keep my hands off it for a couple more weeks and see what its like at the magic six week mark
