Fullers Discovery / hops

Post by OldThumper » Thu Mar 19, 2009 10:36 am

Hi all,

I am thinking of using Graham Wheeler's recipe for Fullers Discovery and I was wondering if anybody has made this before and if so where did you get Liberty hops from? I don't think they are a UK hop, may be USA? If I cannot find Liberty is there a similar hop I can substitute Liberty for? I need Saaz and Liberty and as Saaz is a lager hop it seems to be widley available.

Thanks for your help!

Liberty is an American hop derived from Hallertau Mittelfruh

Hey!

You can get liberty and Mt. Hood hops from Hop and Grape!
They are the brupacks ones and from what I used of them they are pretty good!

P&P is reasonable...

Hope that helps!

Hi,

I have the BYOBRA book, but not in front of me... how much wheat is there in the recipe in there as the Fullers website mentions wheat and I wondered if it was in any significant amount?
I know that Coopers use about 4% wheat in there commercial pale ale.

Cheers
