Sodium Metabisulphate

Post by crafty john » Thu Mar 26, 2009 11:12 pm

I have been reading on the forum about treating water for brewing beer with campden tablets, My brews have allways tasted really nice without treating the water but if I can improve them in any way I will.

How much Sodium Metabisulphate do I use instead of half a campden tablet? How long do I leave the water before I can use it to brew?

Cheers guys

Hi chris
Can I keep the solution in a bottle for later use?
How long do I leave the treated water before using with my kit?

Cheers

Or you can just chuck half a teaspoon of sodium met powder into the water. This is an overdose but will do no harm.
