Yeah you will be able to use either or Caramel/Crystal malt.

Boadica is a Challenger replacement.

I`m actually going to brew this one myself very soon and i`m using Crystal as opossed to caramel just because
i have some in stock, and i`m using Boadica instead of Challenger.

From their website...

About the ale
A refreshing premium ale subtly flavoured with extract of peach. An award-winning 4.5% ABV premium ale, well balanced with distinctive bitterness and a delicate floral peach and melon aroma.

Lord knows how much? Or if this is the type of stuff.

Anyways up it's not from laymans obtainable stuff that this brew gets it's signature flavour - I reckon.
What I do think is that this brewery loves First Gold hops FWIW.

Marvellous Garwatts, thanks, i was wondering what to have a go at next. From the Badger stables Golden Champion is a thick bitter/sweet elderflower brew I enjoy so you've inadvertantly given me a suggestion of what to go for, ta. 8)

So, how much peach extract should one use then?

Good question - no mention of peach in the recipe I have, but from my limited experience of having drunk a number of gallons of the stuff there definitely appears to be a hint of a peachy and melon flavour?

Does it have to be peach extract or could tinned peaches be tried?

i dont think tinned peaches would work

i would have though it would have to be somekind of extract that is unfermentable

are you sure your not getting golden champion and golden glory mixed up? champion has a distinct elderflower taste while glory has a distinct fruit nose, from peach blossom and hop usage

'champion' mate has a fuity flavour with tangerine as well in there

'golden glory' also has a fuity nose but with peach and melon added

I wrongly assumed that the peach aroma in Golden Glory came from the elderflower  So I have just soaked some dried elderflower in warm water and the aroma is like a stale herb/sawdust. A bit disappointed really. So, I might go for something different and forget the Golden Glory idea because it clearly won't be anything like the real thing without the peach extract.
