Hi please help a new brewer
I have just made a Brewferm Diablo , I thought following the instuctions carefully I have taken a OG reading and the instructions say it should be 1.075
the hydrometer says 1.100 does it matter??,should I add more water??.
Thanks

Assuming your hydrometer is accurate it sounds like you've got quite a bit more water to add.
Best wishes

If your hydrometer is not damaged, and your reading at the right temp. Then I would probably follow the instructions and add more water. The yeast supplied may not cope with a 1100.

If it was only a 5-10 points then I would be more inclined to say experiment.

Sometimes the wort and water separate themselves out in to two layers. Must have measure some heavy patches!
