Coopers BrewMaster IPA, wonder which hops???

Post by WishboneBrewery » Sun Apr 19, 2009 2:05 pm

Does anyone have any idea which hops might be in this kit?

The Coopers website doesn't say anything other than this:
Early records of “Cooper and Sons” producing India Pale Ale can be found in the South Australian Advertiser, dated February 1868. Thomas Coopers IPA (India Pale Ale) produces a beer with all the hallmarks of a genuine IPA from the “mother land”. A strong ale with robust malt characters and very high hopping levels. Intended to be mixed with 500g Coopers Light Dry Malt and 300g Coopers Dextrose to 23 litres.

Weight - 1.7kg, Colour - 230EBC, Bitterness - 710IBU
Note the 710 IBU!!! is that 71 units in Real money?? and 23 in colour??

I was thinking of doing a hop tea, but wouldn't want to spoil the kit.

Cheers :)

Why would you want to modify a beer you've never tasted?
Best wishes

in all dumbness... because I can. #-o

I' thinking a 10-15 minutes steep of a few hops in a cafetiere to bring back any lost aroma, not anything major. :)
